Fall Law & Ethics Webinar Series

Looking for an opportunity to earn those coveted Law and Ethics CM credits?  Join SWTX-APA this fall for our Fall Law & Ethics Webinar Series!

SWTX-APA will host group viewing events in September and October using APA’s approved On Demand Courses.  We’ll be showing the ‘2017 Planning Law Review’ and ‘Ethics and the Digital World’ webinars.  These are full of content that will benefit AICP certified planners, planners studying for their AICP exam and planners just starting out.

Dates and times are below.  Both courses will be held at the City of San Antonio’s Planning, Housing, and Sustainability office located at 1400 South Flores, 78204 in the Main Conference Room.

Brief section meetings will be held while we are getting the show up and running.

Ethics and the Digital World

Lunch will not be provided so please feel free to bring your own.

REMINDER: Support UTSA Urban and Regional Planning Program Accreditation!

Calling on all UTSA URP program alumni and supporters!  The graduate planning program at the University of Texas at San Antonio is currently preparing to be reviewed for accreditation by the Planning Accreditation Board (PAB). As part of their review, PAB will be accepting consolidated comments from the SWTX-APA membership.

Please send specific examples of interactions between you and/ or your employer and the URP program, faculty, and staff to MichaelT@HabitatSA.org by September 13.  We will include these examples in a consolidated letter of support from SWTX-APA.  This is your opportunity to show your support for the URP program and the great work they are doing educating and training planners!

ALERT: Historic Homeowner Fair 2017 IS POSTPONED

Due to Hurricane Harvey the Historic Homeowner Fair has been postponed .  As of now it is tentatively scheduled for September 30, 2017.

Historic Homeowner Fair

The 9th Annual Historic Homeowner Fair will be this Saturday, August 26, 2017, at the Pearl Stable.

The Historic Homeowner Fair (HHF) is a free, annual event hosted by the City of San Antonio Office of Historic Preservation. It is designed to bring together owners of aging and historic homes with local professionals, services, products, and solutions and to educate homeowners about caring for and maintaining their properties. In addition to an Exhibitor Hall of local contractors and preservation organizations, the HHF provides educational sessions and hands-on demonstrations throughout the day which cover a wide array of topics including wood window repair, securing financing for a project, and even landscaping.

The fair runs from 9:30 am – 3:00 pm. The HHF is free and open to the public. You don’t have to live in a historic district to attend!
