AIA Arch+Pub Crawl

Join the AIA Emerging Professionals & Urban Affairs Committees for a tour in downtown, visiting a sampling of notable architecture starting near Houston street and stopping occasionally for a cold beverage at a few popular downtown establishments.  The tour also supports the Downtown Tuesday initiative- parking in the Houston street garage is free and there’s plenty of drink specials to be had at the stops.

Cherise Bell, Executive Director of the King William Association, will guide us as our resident expert. She’ll be offering some more in-depth information about the buildings and some other facts on the way. If you can’t make it to La Mansion by 5:30, no problem- come find us on the route. If you want a more updated location, check our Facebook page as we’ll be checking in at the different stops throughout the evening.  See also the route map below.

A couple of guidelines and recommendations:

  • A tour guide will be available to download and print from our Facebook page and from aiasa.org. If you’re unable to hear Cherise you’ll still be able to follow along and pick up some interesting facts along the route. Check back later this week for the final tour guide packet.
  • Team up with a group of friends and share a tab at each establishment. This will help us get out the door and stay closer to the schedule.
  • As always, please drink responsibly.

If you’re planning on attending, please RSVP to steve@alamoarchitects.com or jeffrey@alamoarchitects.com. RSVP’s aren’t required but it would be helpful to get something of head count before Tuesday.ArchPub_Map-Lg
